I have created a video which explains how to use the fmdlog website you,
can access it by
clicking here.
1) To use this site you need to first
register by clicking on the Register/Login link.
2) You will receive an email with a link to activate your account.
3) The link
will take you to the login page which will take you to the fmdlog home page.
4) Start creating your food database by clicking on the Create Food
Database link. From that page you can click on the Add Food link to add food
to your database or you can click on the Load Sample Database to create a
sample database of foods. You may want to start with the sample database and
just delete food items you don't eat. I've found it easiest just to add
foods as I needed to on a daily basis. If you have loaded the sample
database and decide you don't want it, you can use the Delete All link to
remove all of the entries from your database. Warning -- this will delete
everything in your database, even the foods you've added. After a few days of entering foods as you eat them you'll find you have
most of the foods you regularly eat in your database.
5) Once you have the food items
you need in the database to get started, use the List Today's Food link from the navigation bar to
add your daily food servings.
6) From there you can click on the Add
Servings link to add what you plan to eat before each meal.
7) The Add
Servings page will allow you to select foods from a drop down list showing
your food database. You can specify the number of servings you are going to
have (for example you could list 1.5 for 1 1/2 servings).
8) After you
enter the servings for your meal you can click on Return To
View/Update/Delete Page to
see the listing of how many calories you've had so far and what the
percentage of your calories are from fat, carbohydrates, and protein. I also
have listed the grams of sodium you've had for the day. Sodium is not used
in the FMD diet so you can ignore this entry if you wish.
9) You can use
the Delete today's servings link to delete all of your daily entries when you start a
new day (this will not delete the foods from your database).
